Importing from Thorium Mobile
You can import publications both from the homepage and from the bookshelf:
- Tap on … in the upper right corner of the screen
- Select Import
- This will show up the native iOS/iPadOS file picker, from which you can explore your device and access cloud services such as iCloud or Google Drive
- Browse to the location of the file(s) that you’d like to import
- Select one or more publications and tap/click on the ✔️ icon in the upper right corner
Newly imported publications will show up on the Homepage in Not Started Yet as well as in the Bookshelf.
Import from the File app
As an alternative, you can also import new publications using File on iOS and macOS:
- Open File
- Browse to the location of the file that you’d like to import
- Tap and hold on the file to show the list of actions
- Select Open with > Thorium Reader
Import from Safari
Safari may open a number of downloads automatically without letting you select Thorium Reader, which makes it trickier to import from.
To import a download made from Safari:
- Download the file
- Tap on the list of downloads:
- on an iPhone, it’s hidden in a menu:
- tap on the icon at the left of the address bar at the bottom of the screen
- then tap on downloads
on an iPad, it’s visible in the upper right corner (down arrow in a circle)
- on an iPhone, it’s hidden in a menu:
- Tap on the magnifying glass arrow next to the file that you’d like to import
- This will redirect you to the right location in the File app where you can follow the instructions provided in the previous section
Import from Chrome
- If you use Chrome as your browser, you can also import files directly in Thorium Mobile:
- Download the file
- Select your preferred destination
- Tap on Open in in the dialog displayed at the bottom of the screen
- Select Thorium Reader in the list of apps
