Thorium Desktop is an ebook and audiobook reading application available on Windows, macOS and Linux.
Supported formats
Thorium Desktop supports a wide range of ebook, document and audiobook formats. It can also handle publications protected by Readium LCP.

Download
- On Windows, Thorium Desktop is available from the Windows Store or as a direct download.
- On all other platforms, Thorium Desktop is available as a direct download.
Installation with a direct download
Windows
- Download the
Thorium.Setup.3.x.x.exefile to your Windows device. - Open the Explorer and navigate to folder where you downloaded the file.
- Double-click the downloaded
*.exefile. Double-click the downloaded installer file and complete the installation process. Managed devices may require admin authorization to install.
If you’re using a Windows device running on ARM, make sure that you use the alternate download link.
macOS
- Select the download link corresponding to your Mac architecture (Apple Silicon for recent models or Intel for Mac produced before fourth quarter of 2021). This information is available from your system information panel.
- Download the
Thorium.Setup.3.x.x.dmgfile to your macOS device. - Open the Finder and navigate to Downloads.
- Double-click the downloaded
*.dmgfile. - Now drag and drop the application icon to the Applications folder to install the application.
- Close the window and press the eject button in Finder to dismount the image.
Using Thorium Desktop
By default, Thorium Desktop will show the Homepage.
On the left, you’ll see links to all of the main sections available:
- Bookshelf which contains all the publications that you’ve imported
- Catalogs which allows you to browse, search and download from catalogs
- Settings which is meant to allow you to change the application’s language, theme and keyboard shortcuts
